Relation between duration of the prodromal phase and renal damage in ANCA-associated vasculitis
BMC Nephrology Jan 05, 2018
Houben E, et al. - This study was designed to determine the link between the duration of the prodromal phase and renal damage in antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis. Findings demonstrated an association of a long prodromal phase with proteinuria and 3-year end-stage renal disease/mortality, but not with a reduced renal function at 6 months, indicating that for achieving improved renal outcomes, an early diagnosis in ANCA-associated vasculitis patients is important.
