Relating gastric scintigraphy and symptoms to motility capsule transit and pressure findings in suspected gastroparesis
Neurogastroenterology & Motility Sep 09, 2017
Hasler WL, et al. - The present study was designed to identify regional wireless motility capsule (WMC) transit and contractility in relation to scintigraphy, etiology, and symptoms in patients undergoing gastric emptying testing. WMCs defined gastric emptying delays similar but not identical to scintigraphy that were more severe in diabetics and associated with reduced gastric contractility. In >40% with suspected gastroparesis, extragastric transit delays occurred. Gastroparesis symptoms indicated little association with WMC profiles, although lower symptoms associated with small bowel or colon abnormalities.
