Relapse rate and predictors of relapse in a large single-center cohort of type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis: Long-term follow-up results after steroid therapy with short-duration maintenance treatment
Journal of Gastroenterology Jan 28, 2018
Lee HW, et al. - The predictors of relapse and long-term outcomes were identified in patients with type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP). Findings revealed that type 1 AIP had common relapses. Patients with other organ involvement (OOI) appeared to be at increased risk for relapse, especially OOI of the proximal bile duct. In patients with relapse, long-term sequelae, including pancreatic insufficiency and pancreatic calcifications/stones, were common. Longer maintenance treatment could be required to reduce the relapse, especially for patients at high risk for relapse.
