Rehabilitation of the multiple injured patient with spinal cord injury: A systematic review of the literature
Injury Aug 05, 2019
Christodoulou V, Varvarousis D, Theodorou A, et al. - Multiple injured patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) were compared with other polytrauma patients in order to define differences in their characteristics and outcomes during the rehabilitation. Electronic libraries provided 425 relevant articles. For this review, researchers identified 6 articles as eligible for inclusion. A universal evaluation strategy or tool, for the severity of the multiple injured patients directing at the rehabilitation outcome prognosis, is lacking. Compared with other polytrauma patients, multiple-injured patients with SCI have longer rehabilitation length of stay and functional outcomes.
