Regulatory T-cell levels in systemic lupus erythematosus patients: A meta-analysis
Lupus Apr 03, 2019
Zhu Y, et al. - Researchers studied the data to delineate the correlation between peripheral blood Tregs and disease status in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) cases. Significantly lower Treg/PBMC and Treg/CD4+T-cell ratios were observed in participants with SLE as compared to in healthy controls (HCs). But, no alteration in these indicators was noticed in candidates with active and inactive SLE. They also found a much lower Treg/PBMC ratio in subjects defined by CD4+CD25+Foxp3+, CD4+CD25+ and CD4+Foxp3+ compared with HCs. They suggested the impact of ethnic group and Treg definition markers on the proportion of Tregs among peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
