Matsuda S, et al. – The study's aspiration was to elucidate the regulation of the cell cycle and inflammatory arthritis by the transcription cofactor limb bud and heart development (LBH) gene. S–phase arrest induced by LBH deficiency exacerbated inflammation. In view of the association of LBH gene variants with type I diabetes mellitus, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and celiac disease, a general mechanism that could contribute to immune–mediated diseases was indicated.
