Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica Jan 11, 2018
Herrick MD, et al. - This study was designed to determine the impact of regional anesthesia on perioperative outcomes and resource utilization in shoulder arthroplasty patients, presuming decreased complication rates and resource utilization resulting from the use of regional anesthesia for shoulder arthroplasty. Findings suggested that use of regional anesthesia for shoulder arthroplasty may result in an attenuation in perioperative complications, the need for intensive care unit transfers, blood transfusions, and prolonged hospital stays.
