Reduction of cortical oxygenation in chronic kidney disease: Evidence obtained with a new analysis method of blood oxygenation level-dependent magnetic resonance imaging
Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation Dec 07, 2017
Milani B, et al. - This study entails development of a new method to analyze blood oxygenation level-dependent magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-MRI) signals and its application to chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients and controls. Researchers, using this novel twelve-layer concentric objects method, corroborated the notion that renal cortical oxygenation is reduced in CKD in humans, and that the level of cortical oxygenation correlates with CKD severity.
