Reducing length of stay using a robotic-assisted approach for retromuscular ventral hernia repair: A comparative analysis from the Americas Hernia Society Quality Collaborative
Annals of Surgery Feb 01, 2018
Carbonell AM, et al. - This study was designed to compare length of stay (LOS) after robotic-assisted and open retromuscular ventral hernia repair (RVHR). Real-world evidence suggested that a robotic-assisted approach to RVHR provided the clinical benefit of reduced postoperative LOS. In order to determine the long-term effect on hernia recurrence, complications, patient satisfaction, and overall cost, they recommended employing ongoing monitoring of this technique through continuous quality improvement.
