Reduced stroke distance of the left ventricular outflow tract is independently associated with long-term mortality, inĀ patients hospitalized due to heart failure
Clinical Physiology and Functional Imaging Jan 26, 2018
Zhong Y, et al. - Researchers aimed to examine whether stroke distance was correlated with 5-year all-cause mortality, independently of other echocardiography variables, and that stroke distance had added long-term prognostic value. In elderly patients hospitalized with heart failure, stroke distance was associated with long-term mortality, independently of other known echocardiographic prognostic factors. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) became associated with mortality only when stroke distance was excluded from analysis. As per the outcomes, stroke distance had additive prognostic value.
