Elsamadicy AA, et al. – Authors here aimed at determining if patients’ smoking status impacts 30–day complication and re–admission rates after elective complex spinal fusion (≥3 levels). As per findings, smoking had no significant effect on 30–day readmission rates after complex spinal surgery requiring ≥3 levels of fusion. They recommend further studies to corroborate the findings.
