Recurrence rate of lateral margin-positive cases after en bloc endoscopic submucosal dissection of colorectal neoplasia
International Journal of Colorectal Disease Mar 29, 2018
Lee S, et al. - An analysis of colorectal lesions was conducted to assess the recurrence rate of colorectal neoplasia exhibiting histologic lateral margin involvement following en bloc endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Compared to R0 resection cases, the local recurrence rate did not appear to be higher in lateral margin-positive cases if the colorectal epithelial neoplasia was removed in an en bloc manner using ESD. Moreover, it was determined that meticulous pathologic interpretation possibly reduced unnecessarily frequent surveillance after en bloc ESD.
