Matsui Y, et al. - An exploration was performed of the antibiotic prophylaxis in the case of low-risk laparoscopic cholecystectomy. It was determined that antibiotics substantially reduced the risk of postoperative infections after elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy. A notable reduction was obtained in the rates of surgical site, distant and overall infections through antibiotic administration.
