Pai S, et al. - The authors aimed to compare the rate of post-operative urinary tract infection (UTI) with the use of 50% dextrose (D50) vs 20% mannitol for intraoperative cystoscopy during surgery for pelvic organ prolapse (POP). The use of mannitol during cystoscopy, compared to D50, resulted in an increased rate of postoperative UTI.
