Takeuchi H, et al. – A comparative review was performed on rapid and slow antipsychotic initiation in schizophrenia as well as patients undergoing an antipsychotic switch. The findings suggested that rapid initiation of antipsychotics could represent a reasonable option for the treatment of acute schizophrenia. On the other hand, slower initiation could be a safer strategy when switching antipsychotics in stable schizophrenia.
