Randomized trial of a resilience intervention on resilience, behavioral strengths and difficulties of mainstreamed adolescent students with hearing loss
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Oct 18, 2019
Hatamizadeh N, et al. - Researchers conducted this experimental study with a pretest, posttest, follow up, and control group design to assess the efficacy of a resilience-focused intervention on resilience, behavioral strengths, and difficulties of mainstreamed adolescent students with hearing loss. A total number of 122 hearing loss students were assigned randomly to two equal groups. Using the Mann-Whitney Test, the scores were compared between intervention and control groups. Findings suggested that the twelve resilience-focused intervention sessions resulted in a significant increase in resilience. It is also effective in reducing adolescents with hearing loss behavioral problems and is recommended to apply for students with hearing impairment integrated into middle schools.
