Randomized, controlled trial of TRC101 to increase serum bicarbonate in patients with CKD

Bushinsky DA, et al. - TRC101 (a novel, sodium-free, nonabsorbed hydrochloric acid binder) was assessed for efficacy and safety in increasing serum bicarbonate in patients with CKD and metabolic acidosis. Among study participants, significantly increased levels of serum bicarbonate were evident as a result of treatment with TRC101. Data also demonstrated the safety of TRC101 in these patients.
