Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study of single-dose guanfacine in unilateral neglect following stroke
Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry Feb 25, 2018
Dalmaijer ES, et al. - The intent of the authors was to contemplate the effects of guanfacine, a noradrenergic alpha-2A agonist, on the ameliorating aspects of unilateral neglect, which was a poststroke disorder. By boosting the number of targets found, guanfacine improved the search in the neglect. However, it did not exert any impact on directional bias or search organization and did not improve sustained attention or working memory on independent tasks.
