Randomised double-blind comparison of bolus phenylephrine or ephedrine for treatment of hypotension in women with pre-eclampsia undergoing caesarean section

Mohta M, et al. - It was demonstrated herein that in pre-eclamptic patients undergoing caesarean section, administration of intravenous boluses of phenylephrine 50 μg and ephedrine 4 mg to treat post-spinal hypotension led to similar fetal acid-base values, were equally effective in treating hypotension and were related to good maternal and neonatal outcome.
