Schwarzer R, et al. - The haemodynamic effects of taurine supplementation in patients with cirrhosis and varices was evaluated in this randomised clinical study. In cirrhotic patients, taurine was safe and could reduce portal pressure. More studies were required on the underlying mechanisms of action and long-term effects of taurine supplementation.
