Radiotherapy improves the survival of patients with metastatic cervical cancer: A propensity-matched analysis of SEER database
International Journal of Gynecological Cancer Aug 31, 2018
Huang K, et al. - Whether or not radiotherapy has an effect on the survival of patients with stage IVb (M1) cervical cancer was investigated. Using population-based data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results registry, researchers analyzed International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage M1 cervical cancer diagnosed in patients between 1992 and 2013. Outcomes suggest a possible potential of radiotherapy in improving the survival of patients with metastatic cervical cancer. They recommend practicing caution while selecting suitable patients for radiation therapy for metastatic cervical cancer.
