Radiomic signature as a predictive factor for lymph node metastasis in early-stage cervical cancer

Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Aug 17, 2018

Kan Y, et al. - In this retrospective study, researchers assessed a radiomic signature of lymph node involvement in early-stage cervical cancer based on sagittal T1 contrast-enhanced (CE) and T1 MRI sequences. The primary cohort had 100 patients and the validation cohort had 43 patients. Findings demonstrated that the radiomic signatures well-differentiated lymph node metastasis (LNM) from non-LNM groups. The area under the receiver operating characteristics curve (ROC AUC) was 0.753 and 0.754 in the primary cohort and in the validation cohort, respectively. For preoperative evaluation of lymph node status in early-stage cervical cancer patients, a multiple-sequence MRI radiomic signature can serve as a noninvasive biomarker and possibly impact therapeutic decision-making.
