Al Sharhan SS, et al. - Using radiological measurements of the inferior turbinate, the degree of inferior turbinate hypertrophy was assessed by the experts according to the presence of allergic rhinitis (AR). In patients with and without AR, no difference in the degree of inferior turbinate hypertrophy was noted. Hence, while performing the septoplasty in individuals presenting with the symptoms of nasal obstruction, surgical treatment for reducing the size of the inferior turbinate hypertrophy was suggested, irrespective of the presence of AR.
