Radiographic predictors of bone exposure in stage 0 MRONJ patients
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology Sep 04, 2018
Soundia A, et al. - Researchers evaluated the radiographic appearance of stage 0 MRONJ and examined 5 radiographic parameters (trabecular sclerosis, cortical erosion, periosteal reaction, sequestration, crater-like defect) as predictors of progression to bone exposure. They included 23 patients with history of antiresorptive therapy, no bone exposure and non-specific signs and symptoms. Stage 0 vs dental disease diagnosis could be aided by the CBCT imaging. A predictor of future bone exposure in stage 0 MRONJ patients could be the radiographic sequestration at initial presentation.
