van de Meent MM, et al. - Authors gauged the radiographic characteristics of diffuse sclerosing osteomyelitis (DSO) and compared these findings with the radiographic characteristics of chronic suppurative osteomyelitis (CSO) and osteoradionecrosis (ORN) in order to radiographically distinguish these 3 diseases. Results demonstrated subperiosteal bone formation, condylar process deformation, masticatory muscle changes, and the absence of sequestra and pathological fractures to be the radiographic characteristics that differentiate DSO from CSO and ORN.
