Radiation dose and image quality in intraoperative CT (iCT) angiography of the brain with stereotactic head frames
European Radiology May 17, 2019
Forbrig R, et al. - An IRB-approved study was conducted by the investigators for assessment of radiation dose and image quality in intraoperative CT (iCT) angiography of the brain. A sum of 200 patients was included in this retrospective analysis, who had received a cerebral stereotactic iCT angiography on a 128 slice CT scanner. An immensely high radiation dose was yielded by automated tube current modulation (ATCM), due to elevation in substantial tube current at the frame level. Whereas the quality of the image was not enhanced. So, disabling of ATCM would be preferable.
