Racial disparities in survival among women with endometrial cancer in an equal access system
Gynecologic Oncology Aug 04, 2021
Park AB, Darcy KM, Tian C, et al. - In the Military Health System (MHS), which offers equal access care to its beneficiaries despite racial/ethnic background, differences in terms of survival were evident between non-Hispanic Black and non-Hispanic White women with endometrial cancer.
Overall survival was worse for Black women vs their White counterparts.
The racial disparity was confined to women with low-risk tumor features or no adjuvant treatment.
The racial difference in overall survival of endometrial cancer may relate to factors other than access to care.
