Lenze NR, et al. - Authors searched PubMed/MEDLINE, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and CINAHLA following the PRISMA statement under 5 studies to analyze the degree of racial differences in overall survival and human papillomavirus (HPV) status in oropharyngeal cancer. They observed pooled hazard ratio (HR) for overall survival in black vs white Americans with oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) even after adjusting for HPV status to be 1.45 indicating a nonsignificant difference in survival.
