Askie LM, et al. - This study was initiated in order to contemplate if inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) improved the survival without bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) for preterm African American infants. Findings recommended the consideration of iNO therapy for preterm African American infants at high risk for BPD. It was determined that iNO to prevent BPD in African Americans could serve as an example of a racially customized therapy for infants.
