Quantitative 3D shape analysis of CT images of thymoma: A comparison with histological types
American Journal of Roentgenology Nov 17, 2019
Yamazaki M, Oyanagi K, Umezu H, et al. - In this retrospective study, 44 persons with a pathologic diagnosis of thymoma were involved in order to distinguish between low- and high-risk types of thymoma using quantitative 3D shape analysis of CT images. Based on pathologic findings, low-risk (n = 23) and high-risk thymomas (n = 21) were recognized. It was discovered that quantitative 3D shape analysis has outstanding reproducibility, and combining this technique with data on the identification mode aids in distinguishing between low- and high-risk thymomas.
