Abdullah SMOB, et al. - Researchers evaluated the prognostic value of the “quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment” (qSOFA) score for 30-day mortality in emergency department (ED) patients with sepsis identified by Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS) criteria. In this historical cohort study, 434 patients with sepsis of any severity who fulfilled ≥ 2 SIRS criteria were included. According to findings, approximately one-third of patients with a qSOFA score of two or more died within 30 days, and a qSOFA score of two or more was independently linked to mortality.
