Rondelli F, et al. - Researchers performed this review to compare the outcomes with purse-string closure technique (PSC) vs conventional closure technique (CCT) for skin closure after stoma reversal. As per outcomes, a statistically significant lower surgical site infection rate was evident when PSC was performed compared to CCT. However, with regards to operative time, length of hospital stay, incisional hernia and intestinal obstruction rates, the two techniques showed no significant differences.
