Pulsed-wave doppler recordings in the proximal descending aorta in patients with chronic aortic regurgitation: Insights from cardiovascular magnetic resonance
Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography Jan 17, 2018
Bech-Hanssen O, et al. - Researchers here aimed to investigate the utility of pulsed-wave Doppler recording in the descending aorta (PWDDAO) for the assessment of chronic aortic regurgitation (AR) with insights from cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). In this study, PWDDAO produced semiquantitative parameters valuable to assess chronic AR severity. The limitations seemed associated with nonuniform velocity contour and variable degree of lower body contribution, which depended on AR severity and the ascending aorta (AAO) size.
