Fuller BM, et al. - The association between pulmonary mechanics, including driving pressure, and outcomes in mechanically ventilated patients without acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) was examined herein. Driving pressure and plateau pressure provided similar information and were identified as risk factors for mortality and ARDS in mechanically ventilated patients. For ARDS, mechanical power was also identified as a risk factor.
