Pulmonary hypertension and pregnancy outcomes: Systematic review and meta- analysis
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Aug 27, 2020
Jha N, Jha AK, Mishra SK, et al. - Researchers aimed at determining the pregnancy outcomes in pregnant women with pulmonary hypertension in recent decades via systematically analyzing the published literature on this subject. Maternal mortality and any pregnancy loss were included as the primary outcomes. Via performing a comprehensive electronic literature search of MEDLINE, EMBASE and Cochrane library, they obtained 20 studies involving data from 589 parturient describing 610 pregnancies. Analysis revealed improvement in fetomaternal outcomes in recent decades in parturient with moderate to severe pulmonary hypertension. These outcomes may have inferences for preconceptional counselling and risk stratifications.
