Pulmonary embolism hospitalization, readmission, and mortality rates in US older adults, 1999-2015
JAMA Aug 20, 2019

Computed tomographic pulmonary angiography, for instance, is now the routine diagnostic test. Moreover, the availability of risk stratification tools and non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants that do not necessitate routine laboratory monitoring have expedited early patient discharge.
