Suk R, et al. - Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination coverage in the United States is far below the Healthy People 2020 goal of 80%, with 10% difference in coverage between boys and girls. Knowledge of HPV among vaccine-eligible individuals and their parents is vital to vaccine uptake. In addition, the recommendation to receive HPV vaccination from healthcare professionals can assist parents in their decision-making to vaccinate children. Thus, researchers evaluated the national-level estimates of HPV knowledge and receipt of HPV vaccine recommendation from a healthcare professional.
