Clay JM, et al. - A model of stress-induced relapse was used to test if acute psychosocial stress increases craving for alcohol in social drinkers. Researchers also tested whether a change in craving could be explained by variability in impulsivity and risk-taking. Social drinkers displayed increased craving for alcohol with acute psychosocial stress. A correlation was there between increases in stress-induced craving and risk-taking. Those at risk of stress-induced relapse could be identified with risk-taking.
