Connors MH, et al. - The clinical outcomes associated with delusions and hallucinations in Alzheimer's disease were investigated in this longitudinal study. The authors revealed that delusions and hallucinations independently and in combination were correlated with poor clinical outcomes. The findings underscored the challenges managing these patients, especially given the high levels of caregiver burden associated with psychotic symptoms and the likely mortality arising from antipsychotic medication.
