Psychological therapies in management of psoriatic skin disease: A systematic review

Qureshi AA, et al. - Researchers evaluated the effectiveness of multiple psychological interventions in the management of psoriasis. For the treatment of psoriasis, they assessed cognitive behavioral therapy, biofeedback, meditation and mindfulness-based therapies, hypnosis, music resonance therapy, motivational interviewing, emotional disclosure, and educational and multidisciplinary approaches via three case reports and series and 24 clinical trials, totaling 1,522 patients. Cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, motivational interviewing, and educational as well as interdisciplinary interventions were the most promising psychological intervention for psoriasis.
