Scherder R, et al. - Researchers sought to assess if psychiatric and physical comorbidities could predict pain intensity and pain affect in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients, susceptible to cognitive impairment. The main findings suggested that psychiatric comorbidities (depression and anxiety) predicted both pain intensity and pain affect and that total physical comorbidity predicted only pain affect in MS patients, susceptible to cognitive impairment. Thereby indicating that both psychiatric and physical comorbidities predicted pain affect.
