Psoriasis is not associated with cognition, brain imaging markers and risk of dementia: The Rotterdam Study

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Aug 10, 2018

Pezzolo E, et al. - In the population-based Rotterdam Study, researchers compared cognition, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-markers and dementia risk in psoriasis and non-psoriasis patients. Findings did not suggest the correlation of psoriasis with preclinical markers or higher dementia risk. They did not note any difference in cognitive test scores and volumetric, microstructural, focal measures on brain MRI between psoriasis and non-psoriasis participants. No correlation between psoriasis and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) was noted.
