International Urology and Nephrology Apr 16, 2018

Ungprasert P, et al. - Researchers analyzed all available evidence from cohort studies that compared the risk of incident chronic kidney disease (CKD) and/or end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in patients with psoriasis vs individuals without psoriasis. They used random-effect, generic inverse variance method to calculate pooled risk ratio and 95% confidence interval. Evidence from a total of 4 retrospective cohort studies with 199,808 patients with psoriasis revealed a significantly increased risk of incident CKD and ESRD among patients with psoriasis relative to individuals without psoriasis.
