Kubota Y, et al. - This study intended to prospectively investigate if respiratory impairments, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and restrictive lung disease (RLD), are associated with increased abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) risk. Findings demonstrated that independent of smoking, obstructive and restrictive spirometric patterns were related to increased risk of AAA. This indicated that COPD and RLD may increase the risk of AAA.
