Prospective study of a single incision sling vs a transobturator sling in women with stress urinary incontinence: 3 year results
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Mar 20, 2020
White AB, Kahn BS, Gonzalez RR, et al. - Researchers sought to investigate if the single incision sling Solyx (Boston Scientific, Marlborough, MA), vs the transobturator sling Obtryx II (Boston Scientific, Marlborough, MA), is non-inferior in efficacy and safety for treatment of stress urinary incontinence. In this prospective, non-randomized, parallel cohort, enrolled individuals were randomized to receive single incision sling or transobturator sling. To compare efficacy and adverse events for noninferiority, follow-up of 36 months was done. At 36 months, the single incision sling group had treatment success rate of 90.4% vs 88.9% in the transobturator sling group. Outcomes support non inferiority of single incision sling to transobturator sling for long-term treatment success of stress urinary incontinence. The groups exhibited acceptably low and similar rates of serious adverse events.
