Prospective randomized trial of corneal cross-linking riboflavin dosing frequencies for treatment of keratoconus and corneal ectasia

Ophthalmology Dec 07, 2017

Price MO, et al. - The goal of this paper was to determine if the riboflavin dosing frequency exerted an impact on the corneal cross-linking efficacy or safety, given that isotonic riboflavin solution was viscous and each installation coated the corneal surface with a film that absorbed some of the incident ultraviolet A light. An equivalent reduction was yielded in the maximum keratometry value due to the 2 riboflavin dosing regimens, exhibiting a favorable safety profile.
