Prospective assessment of Vesical Imaging Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS) and its clinical impact on the management of high-risk non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer patients candidate for repeated transurethral resection
European Urology Nov 13, 2019
Del Giudice F, Barchetti G, De Berardinis E, et al. - In this study, experts prospectively verified Vesical Imaging Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS) for distinguishing between non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) and MIBC at transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) and assessed the exactitude of VI-RADS for recognizing high risk (HR)-NMIBC cases who could circumvent repeated (Re)-TURBT and identifying those at greater risk for understaging following TURBT. A total of 231 persons were recruited. For distinguishing between NMIBC and MIBC, VI-RADS was found out to be accurate. Thus, within HR-NMIBC cases, VI-RADS could enhance the choice of individuals who are eligible for Re-TURBT in the future.
