Prophylactic granisetron for post-spinal anesthesia shivering in Caesarean Section: A randomized controlled clinical study

Abdel-Ghaffar HS, et al. - Herein, researchers tested the hypothesis that prophylactic granisetrone (serotonin antagonist) might reduce incidence of post- spinal anesthesia shivering in cesarean section. Relative to placebo controls, parturients administered prophylactic granisetron showed effective reduction in the incidence and severity of perioperative shivering, in a dose-dependent manner.
