Clinical Otolaryngology Aug 28, 2017

Kaffenberger TM, et al. – This study was meant to identify clinicopathological factors associated with skip metastasis (SM) as well as to evaluate the accuracy of central neck metastasis imaging in patients with well–differentiated thyroid cancer (WDTC). Evidence displayed that WDTC patients with SM were more likely to had smaller, less aggressive primary tumors. However, the majority (82.4%) had central compartment disease. Prophylactic central neck dissections were recommended in these patients.
