Propensity-matched analysis of patient-reported outcomes for neoadjuvant chemotherapy prior to radical cystectomy
World Journal of Urology Feb 28, 2019
Feuerstein MA, et al. - Using longitudinal data and propensity-matched scoring analyses, investigators examined the patient-reported outcomes (PROs) of 155 bladder cancer patients after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) before radical cystectomy (RC). They noted that NAC-treated candidates had a better emotional and sexual function, mental health, urinary function, and fewer financial worries vs those that did not receive NAC. They also recorded adverse effects such as increased fatigue, nausea, and appetite loss after chemotherapy. NAC did not seem to have a negative impact on PROs.
